After you complete a simple medical waiver you’ll head to a private changing room.
We’ll provide you with socks, shoes and gloves to protect certain parts of your body from the sub-zero temperatures being used during a Cryotherapy session.
Some people simply wear their shorts or other workout clothes, but we’ll provide you with a robe if you prefer extra coverage.
Once you’re changed you will head back to our Cryotherapy chamber.
You can select some music to pump you up, then you will enter the Cryotherapy chamber, staying for up to 3 minutes. we coach you through your Cryotherapy session.
Not sure you can make it the full session? No worries! A healthy Cryotherapy practice may be something you work your way up to, gradually increasing the time you’re able to spend in the cryotherapy chamber each visit.
In general it will feel like standing outside on a very cold winter day!
After you get out, you’ll feel energized, alert, and may even experience a bit of a mood boost.
One form of Cryotherapy we offer at BuffaloCryo is Whole Body Cryotherapy.
This service exposes the entire body to sub-zero temperatures inside of a chamber for up to 3 minutes.
As the body is exposed to these freezing temperatures, it enacts a natural fight or flight response that redirects blood away from extremities toward the core, protecting your organs.
During this process, the body increases its levels of oxygen and certain proteins that can help decrease pain and inflammation.
When you exit the Cryotherapy chamber and return to normal room temperature, this oxygen-rich blood moves back through the body, helping the whole body with pain management and recovery.
This service is one of many ways BuffaloCryo utilizes controlled, natural stressors to increase your body’s resilience, improving health and reducing recovery time.
Cryotherapy is a great tool for recovery.

***Whole Body Cryotherapy is not recommended for individuals with the following conditions:
• Pregnancy
• Cardiac Failure/ Pacemaker
• High Blood Pressure untreated
• Low Blood Pressure untreated
• DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis)– affectes the peripheral blood vessels adversely
• Severe Anaemia
• Seizure Disorders
• Wound Healing problems
• Sever Raynaud’s Syndrome
• Hypothyroidism – increases sensitivity to cold temperatures.
• Cardiovascular System Disease
• Unstable Angina
• Peripheral Vascular Disease
• Acute Respiratory Tract Disease – may be worsened by exposure to cold air and relative lack of humidity.
• Severe Wasting Diseases – may not be able to tolerate cold temperatures.
• Alcohol or Drug use – both of these can adversely affect the normal physiological response to cold.
